Demandtec Lead SW provider to Retail seeks Java Dev Eng (san mateo)

DemandTec is searching for a Software Engineer to join our top-notch software engineering team. If you are a person who likes to be challenged and enjoys working in a dynamic fast paced environment, you will help us continue to improve and innovate our Software as a Service (SAAS) applications.

The Software Engineer will design and develop software components with a keen eye for quality, performance and scalability. You will work closely with a Technical Lead, Product Management and other engineers to design and implement new features and core capabilities for DemandTec’s application suite.

Software Engineer (Java) (stable career track record)

Responsibilities:

Develop new software components and maintain/enhance existing software components

Work closely with product management to understand customer requirement and usage

Work with quality assurance to ensure high quality product delivery

Maintain high-level of unit test coverage

Contribute to user interface development as needed

Participate in agile software development process

Required Experience and Skills:

5-8 years designing, implementing, and maintaining functionality for enterprise web applications

Proven track record of building fast, reliable, scalable, service-oriented web applications

Expert in object-oriented design and development

Excellent Java programming and debugging skills

Proficiency in web technologies, such as JSP, JavaScript, Ajax and Flex

Proficiency in relational databases and SQL

Experience handling big data in all tiers of application architecture, including database, business layer and user interfaces

Ability to take on multiple projects and complex tasks with minimal supervision

Strong analytical and problem solving skills (Must be able to analyze and suggest improvements to existing code and designs)

Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating environments

Familiarity with test driven development and JUnit

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree and/or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

Desired Skills:

Experience with web services implementation and standards

Experience with web application frameworks, such as Spring

Experience working in an agile software development environment, preferably Scrum
